Roasted Garbonzo Beans

Why Eat Garbanzo Beans?
Garbanzo beans are full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.  Garbanzo beans, also known as chickpeas, are a major part of a number of diets around the world, including Mediterranean, Asian and Middle East diets. The garbanzo bean is high in fiber, potassium and folate. But its high protein and iron content also make it a suitable substitution for meat. Because of its nutritional profile, the garbanzo bean offers a number of health benefits and makes a good addition to anyone's diet.
Besides being full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Garbanzo beans also help with:
·      Hunger Control
Including garbanzo beans in your diet can help you control hunger. As a food that can help control hunger and decrease overall consumption, garbanzo beans may help you manage your weight.

·      Lower Blood Cholesterol

·      Good for your Blood

    ·      High in Iron

Directions: I used garbanzo beans that were about .65 cents for a can. I drained them and put them in a bowl with worcestershire sauce, Lawrey seasoning and Mr. Dash seasoning.  I  then placed them on wax paper and baked them in the oven for about 30. Once they were done cooking I threw them in a salad for extra flavor and healthiness.

Tessa's Healing Medicine: Homemade Face Toner & Lotion

I recently made my own face toner and face lotion. If interested in purchasing my number is 956-763-9121.

The natural ingredients that are in my skin care products

Chamomile
Chamomile, a flower in the daisy family, is one of the oldest of all herbs, dating back to ancient Egyptians. It’s both a pretty flower and an ancient healer. This versatile herb is recognized as a natural healing treatment that helps rejuvenate the skin

Rosemary

Rosemary oil tones and firms the skin. The herb is an astringent, helping to reduce excess oil in skin. Rosemary tones and firms sagging skin and it is used as an ingredient in anti-aging products. The disinfectant and antibiotic properties of rosemary contribute to its use for treating acne, dermatitis and eczema. Rosemary also increases blood flow and contributes to healthier skin. The circulatory benefits of rosemary lead to an improved complexion, allowing nutrients to effectively reach the skin while removing waste products and toxins.

My Face Toner:

A few ingredients are Rosemary,
Chamomile, Witch Hazil &
Beta-Carotene Oil: Carrot Oil is a golden colored extract from carrots with extraordinary skin protection and conditioning benefits derived from the high quantities of oil soluble carotenoids that it contains. Carotenoids are a class of easily assimilated antioxidants, which are present in a wide range of fruits and vegetables but most abundant in carrots. Carotenoids have antioxidants that protect human cells from a wide range of environmental pollutants, including UVR. If skin does not receive these antioxidants it can result in premature aging.

My Face Lotion: Lemon Sugar Cookie

Vitamin A
Vitamin A helps maintain skin development and health. It’s a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals, which are responsible for premature aging. Vitamin A also helps to reduce the production of sebum, which causes acne problems in some people. A deficiency in vitamin A can lead to rough, dry skin and in extreme cases cracked skin, especially around the mouth.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that also helps protect cells from free radicals. It works along with vitamin A for numerous skin benefits.
Vitamin B Complex
B Complex consists of eight vitamins that are essential to cell reproduction. B vitamins that are especially important to skin health are B1 (thiamine) and B3 (niacin) promote blood circulation throughout the body and help deliver nutrients to skin cells. B2 (riboflavin) contributes to healthy growth of skin, hair and nails. A deficiency in this vitamin can lead to liver spots, oily skin and cracked skin around the mouth. B5 (pantothenic acid) regulates hormone production and combats stress, which can lead to skin flare-ups. A deficiency B6 (pyridoxine) can lead to dry cracked skin, eczema and pigmentation problems such as liver spots.
Vitamin C Vitamin C is an essential compound of collagen, a protein found in the skin that gives it elasticity
Other Ingredients: Hemp seed oil, Beta-Carotene, Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera, etc..

Tessa's Healing Medicine: Handmade Organic Soaps

I recently started my own business of making organic soaps, lotions, scrubs, masks, lip balms and making herb infused olive oils. I believe in my organic products because our skin is our biggest organ of our body and it’s important that we use pure and natural products on our body and not chemicals. If you are interested in purchasing any of my items I will start putting them on etsy.com and posting them on my blogs.

Soaps:

Some recent soaps I have made are Rosemary Orange Zest, Mint Julep Ginger Root, Earth Soap, Eucalyptus mint, Oatmeal Lavender Honey.

Rosemary Orange Zest: This soap is infused with actual Rosemary. It’s gentle on the hands and very moisturizing with essential oils of vitamin e and honey. The orange zest exfoliates dead skin and heightens the senses.

Mint Julep Ginger Root: Simply put, this soap is relaxing. It’s the natural home treatment that absorbs excess oil from the skin while simultaneously exfoliating and improving skin circulation. The soap is made with Kaolin Clay which has been used around the world for centuries by indigenous people as an important medicinal and cosmetic tool.  Ginger root helps exfoliate the dead skin leaving your skin looking and smelling great.

Earth Soap: Made with all natural English Clay. It produces a lightening effect on the outer epidermal layer of the skin. Because of its enormous drawing capabilities, Earth soap literally draws and absorbs oil from the skin, and is the number one choice for those with oily skin or those who are prone to acne.

Eucalyptus Mint: This soap starts with organic olive oil in which I add French green clay and mint leaves to. The scent is from 100% organic eucalyptus essential oil. This soap smells amazing, very refreshing. It's pure, it's simple and it's wonderful!

Oatmeal Lavender Honey: Made with many essential oils including honey and an aroma of lavender. Infused with oatmeal to exfoliate and moisturize.
Here's a picture of my soaps getting molded into the cute little soaps you see above.

Healthiest & Easiest Frappuccino

Slimfast now has a premade Cappuccino Shake and it’s delicious!!

I am a complete Frappuccino lover from Starbucks but it has about 500 calories compared to my option of 190 calories. My solution is the Slimfast Cappuccino.  Slim-Fast is low in calories and are fortified with vitamins, protein, carbohydrates, electrolytes and potassium, according to Diet.com. This drink can help you lose weight while still obtaining proper nutrition.  This is actually  a cup from an earlier frap from Starbucks but this shows that you can't tell the difference between the two. Can you tell the difference? I think not and it even tastes better and filled me up.
Ingredients:

·        1 Slimfast Cappuccino Shake

·        1 Cup Ice

·        Add Coffee (optional)

·        Chocolate if you’d like? I used a splash :)

                        Directions:

Seafood Stuffed Avacado

Why should you eat this? This recipe is high in protein & good fat. The main ingredients are imitation crab & avocado.

Imitation Crab-   Imitation crab meat is low in triglycerides and suitable if you are watching your fat intake. Healthy triglyceride levels are lower than 150 milligrams per deciliter. Choosing healthier fats, such as those found in fish, is a good way to lower your triglyceride levels.

  • Nourishes the Skin and Joints
  • Soothes the gut and digestive system

Grilled Salmon with Lemon & Fresh Dill

This Is So Easy To Make and Yet So Very Healthy For You!

Why should you eat this meal?
Salmon is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, protein, minerals and vitamins. It is among the varieties of fish recommended for consumption twice a week. One 3 oz. serving of salmon contains 184 calories, all of which come from protein and fat. Salmon contains no carbohydrates, no fiber and no sugar.

Ingredients :
·       Plank Cedar Board
·       Salmon Fillets
·       Lemon
·       Fresh Dill
·       Pepper
·       Season-All Lemon Pepper
Directions
1.    Use a cedar plank or other wood per taste and availability. Start soaking the plank in water for 15 minutes to 1/2 hour before you want to cook the salmon to make sure the board does not burn.
2.   Season the Salmon. Sprinkle lemon juice, pepper, lemon all seasoning on the salmon for about 10 minutes before time to cook.
3.   Layer the salmon with fresh dill and lemon slices on top of the filet.
4.   Put the plank of salmon on the grill and close the lid to your grill. You want to cook the salmon with indirect heat.
5.   If you have a thermometer on your grill, I bring the heat up to 500 degrees.
6.   It should take about 15 minutes for your salmon to cook. You will know that it is done when, using a fork, the fish will flake off.
7.   Enjoy!
